Patrick was born and raised in Denmark to an American father and a Danish mother. After graduating high school he began a period of traveling all over the world visiting more than 50+ countries before starting university. Prior to joining Explorer Capital, Patrick worked as a partner in an international real estate company developing real estate with an emphasis on short-term rentals and has currently deployed more than $6 million USD into the Colombian market. Currently, Patrick is responsible for sourcing real estate deals, overseeing renovation of properties and managing the EC operation in Colombia. He is our expert on the ground, very well-connected, and few people know the intricacies of doing business in Latam better than Patrick. Today, he lives in Cali, Colombia with his wife and two kids. He is fluent in Danish, English, and Spanish. Patrick holds a BA in Business Economics and Organizational Behavior from the University of Southern Denmark. In his spare time, he reads, travels, runs ultramarathons, rides motorcycles and looks for new investment opportunities.
Cody is an investor, writer, and global traveler, having completed private investment transactions throughout Asia, Europe, and the Americas over the past 10 years. Prior to co-founding Explorer Real Estate, Cody sourced, structured, fund raised and executed investments across a variety of industries including foreign real estate, technology, agriculture, CPGs and cannabis for Explorer Equity Group, an opportunistic private equity platform. His experience in real estate includes transactions in Mexico, Panama, Colombia, and the US. Cody has led investments in over 20 companies and sourced capital from over 30 different countries. His writing has been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, Inc., Slate and many international publications. Additionally, he has been a speaker, advisor and host at investing events in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Cody received his B.A. from California Lutheran University, where he was a four-year NCAA collegiate water polo player. Originally from the Los Angeles area, he now lives in Palm Beach, Florida with his wife and two kids.
Brian brings over 10 years of extensive finance, real estate and private investment experience to Explorer Capital. He has experience advising multinational private and publicly traded technology, media, cannabis and real estate companies. Brian co-founded Explorer Equity Group, a private equity platform, where he oversees deal sourcing, due diligence and structuring, and has led direct investments in over 20 companies. Prior to that, he was a Director at a family office overseeing a $200 million portfolio of self-storage and multifamily real estate and he held management positions at Ernst & Young, LLP (``EY``), in their real estate and private equity groups and at American Homes 4 Rent (NYSE: AMH), one of the largest single-family rental REITs. Brian earned a B.S. in Accounting from California Lutheran University and is a licensed CPA. He lives in Los Angeles, CA with his wife and two children.
